Meghan McCain

So a couple weeks ago I noticed that Meghan McCain (Sen. John McCain's daughter) was scheduled to come speak at my school about politics, including her new book.

However she cancelled this week. This really disappointed me because I was interested in what she had to say. We were today that she cancelled "due to several unforeseen professional responsibilities that are regrettably preventing her from traveling to Juniata." I just thought this meant that someone else paid or more money. Boy was I WRONG. Instead she decided to go gamble & drink her night away in Las Vegas. And boy are people upset. In fact, some how the word broke out into different newspapers. Here's the story!

How to pick a plum.

I have no idea how to pick a plum.

Last night at dinner I just happened to notice that the cafeteria had plums sitting out so I snagged one for safe keeping. However, I had no idea of how to pick one so I just picked up one that was more firm and kind of red. Today, my roommate informs me that I did it wrong. =/ figures. The darker the better she said. So I'm going to let my little plum sit on my bookshelf until it gets a little more...plummy? I guess. I still think it looks pretty, but not good enough to eat- yet. =)

MOUNTAIN DAY!!

This morning I woke up to air horns, yelling, banging on doors and this lovely face of Steph:

At 5:00 in the morning all this can only mean one thing: MOUNTAIN DAY!!!

Now what is Mountain Day exactly? At my school every year we have a completely unannounced day of cancelled classes & we're all shuttled to the nearest lake to participate in awesome outdoor activities & a picnic. Pretty much when there's beautiful weather out it's fantastic & everything is beautiful looking. See?:

This Mountain Day was so much better than last year for the sole fact that it wasn't incredibly freezing out and we could actually enjoy being outside! Yay for SUN!

This morning I also got a double surprise! An early birthday present from my boyfriend! =) I opened my email and found this:

So, he didn't really put "Best Boyfriend Ever", but hey there are creepers out there. This completely just made my day so amazing before it even began. I had been talking about how I don't really have any movies here in my dorm and how I was going to ask for Netflix for Christmas. It's so awesome I got it a little less than 3 months early. So, once again thank you so much sweety! =D

After a little chaos of trying to get ready quickly, we ended up missing the last morning bus to the lake, so Katie was so kind to drive. =)

When we first got there the lines were kind of long, especially the food line. It is to be expected the first thing you want to do is eat, but does everyone have the same feeling at the same time?!

After eating the four of us decided to go on a wonderful *cough* hour & a half *cough* canoe trip. ;) I deemed myself official photographer while Emily & Steph were paddling and Katie was trying not to flip the canoe. haha.

We canoed to the other side of the lake and ventured around on the little beach, learning to skip rocks & just enjoying nature. =)

All in all I would say that good fun was had by all. As a souvenir I made this awesome frisbee.

Today is to date the best Mountain/ Normal Day I have had in a long time. I hope everyone else had an awesome monday!

Forgive me for I have been busy!

Please, the few readers out there forgive this horrible blogger for failing to make a post in a couple days. =/ I've been so loaded down with homework. I promise a nice long post tomorrow with all of my latest adventures (with pictures!). Until then, have a wonderful evening. =)

It's so disappointing...

...to think that you have one of your favorite snacks and you don't. =(

Yes, that happened to me just now. I thought I had at least one more Luna Bar, but alas it was not so. So, I have decided to have equivalent of a "Slim Fast" shake instead. Don't worry, I don't think they actually do anything, but I do find them tasty. =) Yes, I do have odd taste sometimes.

This morning I decided to have very delicious "Mint Cooler Tea" on my way to class. It was delicious warm, but very light. =) Just the thing to wake me up.

This tea came from a very cute little Herb shop in town called "Sweet Annie Herbs". It smells so delicious as soon as you walk into the door and the women who worked there were more than happy to help. They don't just have tea either, all kinds of herbs and home remedies. It is fantastic and I can't wait for a 2nd trip!

I need to be productive today so I've set up camp on my bed:

TA-DAH!

Sorry about the lack of pictures, I forgot my camera most of the day. =/ More to come! =)

P.S. Happy thoughts for my friend Steph, she is experiencing computer difficulties and is about to undertake "Customer Service"

Remodeling Stage 1

Well so far all the background/ layout stuff has been changed. YAY! =D

What do you think?

Well, I'm going to bed because I have an early wake up call:

And I get to read this super awesome novel. (sarcasm)

Wish me luck! =)

Night!

Remodeling To Start!

What makes a blog interesting?

This is a question I have been asking myself. After reading numerous blogs I've decided upon 3 key elements of an interesting blog:
1. PICTURES! Everyone loves pictures right? It's like a sneak preview into what the entry is about.
2. Personal touch! Getting to know the blog writer for who she or he really is in the "real" world is always very exciting. It's what keeps people coming back for more.
3. Consistency! Knowing that a blog will be updated very so many days/ hours/ weeks/ whatever makes a reader feel some consistency in this ever changing world. Comfort among the chaos if you must. So, BIG CHANGES are ahead! =D
