Inspiration

I apologize for being gone SO LONG. It's been a crazy semester here and very stressful. I have been concentrating on my studies and everything else pretty much got neglected. So here's the deal, I have decided to start my own little inspiration wall in my dorm. Something with clippings & pictures of the things that I find really awesome to draw inspiration from. That will be my project over the next week or so while I'm wrapping up the semester & trying to remember to breathe once in a while. Also, new redesign on the blog. woot!

Good Karma Vibes

My life as been one ball of stress. I get back from Fall Break & BOOM! work. =/ Alas, I must complete all work by November. On the bright side, by the time Thanksgiving rolls around it will almost be over for a whole month! I can't wait until Winter Break! However, I will miss my tiny little dorm. I am also, incredibly grateful for this opportunity to be at school so no matter how stressful I MUST SURVIVE!

Today was so awesome because I got to do a Community Service project in the next town over. We tested & replaced christmas lights. It was a little cold, but we knocked it out of the park and I'm pretty sure I get awesome Karma points. ;) I look forward to volunteering again very soon, hopefully. =)

Until later,

yours truly. =)

P.S. I am having a really weird taste in music lately explain: I crave "The Kooks". oh well...could be worse. =)

Meghan McCain

So a couple weeks ago I noticed that Meghan McCain (Sen. John McCain's daughter) was scheduled to come speak at my school about politics, including her new book.

However she cancelled this week. This really disappointed me because I was interested in what she had to say. We were today that she cancelled "due to several unforeseen professional responsibilities that are regrettably preventing her from traveling to Juniata." I just thought this meant that someone else paid or more money. Boy was I WRONG. Instead she decided to go gamble & drink her night away in Las Vegas. And boy are people upset. In fact, some how the word broke out into different newspapers. Here's the story!

How to pick a plum.

I have no idea how to pick a plum.

Last night at dinner I just happened to notice that the cafeteria had plums sitting out so I snagged one for safe keeping. However, I had no idea of how to pick one so I just picked up one that was more firm and kind of red. Today, my roommate informs me that I did it wrong. =/ figures. The darker the better she said. So I'm going to let my little plum sit on my bookshelf until it gets a little more...plummy? I guess. I still think it looks pretty, but not good enough to eat- yet. =)

MOUNTAIN DAY!!

This morning I woke up to air horns, yelling, banging on doors and this lovely face of Steph:

Photobucket

At 5:00 in the morning all this can only mean one thing: MOUNTAIN DAY!!!

Now what is Mountain Day exactly? At my school every year we have a completely unannounced day of cancelled classes & we're all shuttled to the nearest lake to participate in awesome outdoor activities & a picnic. Pretty much when there's beautiful weather out it's fantastic & everything is beautiful looking. See?:

Photobucket

This Mountain Day was so much better than last year for the sole fact that it wasn't incredibly freezing out and we could actually enjoy being outside! Yay for SUN!

Photobucket

This morning I also got a double surprise! An early birthday present from my boyfriend! =) I opened my email and found this:

So, he didn't really put "Best Boyfriend Ever", but hey there are creepers out there. This completely just made my day so amazing before it even began. I had been talking about how I don't really have any movies here in my dorm and how I was going to ask for Netflix for Christmas. It's so awesome I got it a little less than 3 months early. So, once again thank you so much sweety! =D

After a little chaos of trying to get ready quickly, we ended up missing the last morning bus to the lake, so Katie was so kind to drive. =)

When we first got there the lines were kind of long, especially the food line. It is to be expected the first thing you want to do is eat, but does everyone have the same feeling at the same time?!

After eating the four of us decided to go on a wonderful *cough* hour & a half *cough* canoe trip. ;) I deemed myself official photographer while Emily & Steph were paddling and Katie was trying not to flip the canoe. haha.

We canoed to the other side of the lake and ventured around on the little beach, learning to skip rocks & just enjoying nature. =)

All in all I would say that good fun was had by all. As a souvenir I made this awesome frisbee.

Today is to date the best Mountain/ Normal Day I have had in a long time. I hope everyone else had an awesome monday!

Forgive me for I have been busy!

Please, the few readers out there forgive this horrible blogger for failing to make a post in a couple days. =/ I've been so loaded down with homework. I promise a nice long post tomorrow with all of my latest adventures (with pictures!). Until then, have a wonderful evening. =)

It's so disappointing...

...to think that you have one of your favorite snacks and you don't. =(

Yes, that happened to me just now. I thought I had at least one more Luna Bar, but alas it was not so. So, I have decided to have equivalent of a "Slim Fast" shake instead. Don't worry, I don't think they actually do anything, but I do find them tasty. =) Yes, I do have odd taste sometimes.

This morning I decided to have very delicious "Mint Cooler Tea" on my way to class. It was delicious warm, but very light. =) Just the thing to wake me up.

This tea came from a very cute little Herb shop in town called "Sweet Annie Herbs". It smells so delicious as soon as you walk into the door and the women who worked there were more than happy to help. They don't just have tea either, all kinds of herbs and home remedies. It is fantastic and I can't wait for a 2nd trip!

I need to be productive today so I've set up camp on my bed:

TA-DAH!

Sorry about the lack of pictures, I forgot my camera most of the day. =/ More to come! =)

P.S. Happy thoughts for my friend Steph, she is experiencing computer difficulties and is about to undertake "Customer Service"

Remodeling Stage 1

Well so far all the background/ layout stuff has been changed. YAY! =D

What do you think?

Well, I'm going to bed because I have an early wake up call:

And I get to read this super awesome novel. (sarcasm)

Wish me luck! =)

Night!

Remodeling To Start!

What makes a blog interesting?

This is a question I have been asking myself. After reading numerous blogs I've decided upon 3 key elements of an interesting blog:
1. PICTURES! Everyone loves pictures right? It's like a sneak preview into what the entry is about.
2. Personal touch! Getting to know the blog writer for who she or he really is in the "real" world is always very exciting. It's what keeps people coming back for more.
3. Consistency! Knowing that a blog will be updated very so many days/ hours/ weeks/ whatever makes a reader feel some consistency in this ever changing world. Comfort among the chaos if you must. So, BIG CHANGES are ahead! =D

Baseball

To be quite honest, I'm not much of a baseball fan. I enjoy going to the games, but I'm never one to watch it religiously on T.V. However, for some reason I decided today to watch the last inning of the Yankees Vs. Twins game. I am glad I did! I got to see the Yankees lose to the Twins by 3 runs! It was beautiful pitching down by Jon Rauch. I'm not a big fan of baseball, but I'm really not a fan of the Yankees. This lost made my day! =D

Ugh, Technology!

Would you believe me if I told you I think technology is out to get me? Well, I really think it is! Actually, maybe just chargers. I have already had to exchange my laptop charger, and I fear that my cell phone charger is slowly dying. And chargers can get up there in price (especially laptop ones), so thank goodness for exchanges! However, the phone one isn't too expensive, but anything over the price of 50 cents is a little much for a poor college student. ;P

The good news is that I survived the packing of the dorm and transporting it and am now resting safely in my own bed. It's weird to be in a room by myself! On the random side, it think I'm going to start making more pictures, because blogs are boring without pictures!

It's very late here, so I'm going to head to bed. "Night Ya'll!" ;)

Any Body There?

Well, it has been a long while so I think it is time for a good post! =) Today will be full of writing a paper (yuck!) and more packing (yay?). It's so bittersweet to leave one home to go to another. But no worries! I'll be back in August. It will be exciting to go back to my city, but it's still a bit sad to leave my quaint little home. Well, let us see I have yet to eat to day so I should probably hop on to that so that way I will actually have the capacity to think today! Well, I'm off for a nice walk to the grocery store to grab some grub. Have an awesome day! =)

Oh! And a happy belated 170h birthday to one of my favorite composers: Pytor Tchaikovsky! =D

Lifestyle Change?

Well, I'm going to do it. I have completely decided that I am in need of a lifestyle change. I think it's time to choose grapes over cookies, gardening over facebook, and walking over homework. Well, I can still do the homework, just make all of them fit. I feel like if I did I'd be happier. It's not that I'm not happy now. I just think it's time to mix it up. Like taking a vacation. However, seeing that I am a poor college student I'll just garden & eat right instead and unlike a vacation it will last longer. I'm excited to get back to my city to have a stove & oven and my own lawn to garden in. It will be super exciting! After being in this dorm I don't think I'll ever take for granted my own yard or kitchen. Well I should be asleep I have a 10am class tomorrow I hope everyone has a wonderful night. =) Sweet Dreams World!

Sundresses & Flip-Flops

The weather is starting to peak here in my cute & quiet little town. With a high of 75 degrees I want to braid my hair with flowers, and stare at the clouds for hours. It's days like today that make me want to live in the woods & live off the land. I think that's what summertime is about, going back to a simple time. Going back to be 5 years old again when the park was exciting and you lived in thin linen dresses, and dandelions in your hair made you feel like the princess of the field! That's what I want my summer to be about relaxing, cooking, dancing, and playing. It's exciting, I'm excited, and you should be too.

Small Talents

It amazes me everyday the small talents that people present that you may never even know about! To some it's a hobby, or something that took hours/ years for them to master. One thing that truly shocked & amazed me was this:

The time, the detail that goes into one of these creations! You can find more at this site: more amazing work!

Favorite Chair

Recently my roommate and I have been having a mini feud over the chair in our dorm. I feel like it might bring us together. I think it's cute. I love her dearly. I call her mean names, and she reciprocates. It's a love disguised as hate relationship, but I honestly think it keeps us sane. I just wonder though how many people have that favorite thing? Like when you feel bad you just go for that thing, or you feel most relaxed when you're sitting on that favorite chair or cuddly with that favorite blanket? It seems to be a pretty common thing for humans to get attached to things. Well, at least most people I've met. But what about the people I haven't met? Do all people feel comforted by some soul-less, personality-less thing?

"Not Martha"

One evening while in the library my friend stumbled upon a random website. This woman in seattle whose title is "Not Martha" I was personally throughly first amused by the title & kept on looking through the website. She has this recipe for Blueberry Cobbler in mini Jars. Personally I was very excited! My friend and I made a deal and I would attempt to make them over the summer. I really liked the blog it's self so I thought I would share it for some person who randomly stumbles upon my blog. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did! =)

Starting A Blog 101

Well, I finally did it- I started a blog. At least, the first part anyway. I've been telling myself for years I'd start a blog. I mean why not, I enjoy reading them so I should enjoy writing one as well. I feel like it's going to be hard to continue writing on a routine basis, but I suppose that's what the laziest of summer is for. As the semester winds down and the summer & warm weather quickly approaching I think it's time to stop waiting. I keep waiting for time and as one quote said "If you don't have time today, what makes you think you'll have time tomorrow?" Well, here's to today! I suppose I should start with a little bit about myself. I like people. In fact, I love people. People are interesting animals that I really like to understand, I try to imagine what life would be like if I was someone else. I'm not saying I want to be someone else, in fact I like myself just fine, but it's a curiosity thing honestly. I think that's why I'm starting this blog. I always wonder what other people think & see, so I'm sure some one else out there also thinks the same thing. So, that's what this blog is for. To post random things I like, dislike, and just random facts that I find interesting. I hope someone out there also finds joy from my blog if not, oh well, no harm done. Thanks for reading!
